Writing about our work is important. It allows the person looking at our artwork to better understand it and gives us time to reflect on what we have made. As you have done throughout the year, I want you to pick your favorite artwork you have made during our soft closure and write an artist statement following these guidelines.

Recycled Styrofoam Printmaking
Theme: Happiness This is a basic introduction to printmaking lesson. The lesson is meant to teach students how to create multiples of one drawing through a simple relief Styrofoam print. Objectives:
Students will understand the concept of printmaking (creating multiples from one drawing)
Students will compare and contrast their print technique to the prints displayed in the exhibit
Students will create imagery that reflects what it means to live in Utah today.
Materials: -Styrofoam tray ( recycle and old to go box or veggie/meat tray from the grocery store) -Acrylic Paint or Relief Block paint -Dull wooden pencil -Brayer or Paintbrush to apply paint or ink

Since our projects have been put on pause at school, I would like for you to use the time at home to make your own desert ecosystem.
Include:
2 Abiotic parts 2 Biotic parts and the SUN!
You may use any art materials you have available. Let this be your time to get creative. This could become a sculpture, drawing, painting, etc.
Take a picture if this becomes something that you cannot bring to school, otherwise, next time you come back to art class you will bring this with you.
